Amid the pandemic, we know more people than ever are struggling financially and there is an increasing need for access to healthy food. That’s why Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas organized a Virtual Food Bank Drive benefiting several Feeding America affiliates in Florida. Our team members blew us away with their generosity, raising more than $55,000 with a dollar-for-dollar match from our parent company Emera!
Our donation will fund more than 220,000 meals for Floridians in need. Several cities across Florida benefited, including Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and other smaller surrounding cities. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to this important initiative, especially during a time of considerable hardship due to the pandemic.
