Orlando stands strong – and TECO Peoples Gas proudly stands with you

Candles for OrlandoAs the world, nation, state of Florida and Orlando – a community that TECO Peoples Gas is proud to serve – continue to grapple with the Pulse nightclub attack, we offer our deepest condolences to the victims, families, friends and loved ones of those impacted by the violence, and to everyone suffering as a result of the tragedy.

At TECO, with our core value of Respect and Concern for Others, we believe that diversity fuels the strength of the community and our company. And strength in the face of unparalleled adversity is exactly what Orlando has shown the world since the events of last Sunday.

At a time when normalcy seems shattered, when loved ones have been lost and injured, and we all try to process what happened, your contribution can make a difference. Below is a list of organizations assisting those who need it the most after the attack. There are, of course, many others working to help.

While we can never erase this terrible turn of events, and while its scars will linger, we can take to heart how Orlando and people across America and around the planet have come together to search for solutions, healing and hope. It won’t be easy; this certainly goes without saying for those closest to the tragedy. But the team members of TECO Peoples Gas, including those in Orlando, are committed to helping the community in any way that we can. We grieve with you, we struggle to make sense of events that defy it and we yearn to imagine a better world – one we can all share together in peace.

Equality Florida, a local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, has a GoFundMe page to support the Pulse nightclub shooting victims and their families.

The GLBT Community Center of Central Florida is where you’ll find information for a variety of LGBT organizations in one place. The center also has a GoFundMe page through which you can make a donation to help Orlando shooting victims and their families.

Help for victims’ pets: For pets that have lost their owners in the Pulse attack, and to provide care for pets whose owners are helping those affected by the attack, the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando offers short-term care or permanent placement for pets. This page includes a list of more nonprofit organizations that provide pet care.

Thank you for helping Orlando stand strong.
